What is CAS Full Form in Banking?

The CAS full form in Banking is a Consolidated Account Statement. It is a single/combined account statement that reveals the details of an investor’s financial activities over a month across all mutual funds as well as other securities held in the Demat form. It is generally issued for accounts where the financial transaction has been made during a month, where the unit holders are identified through PAN.

Who will issue the CAS?

The Depositories (NSDL or CDSL) generate and provide the CAS to investors for the PANs that are common to both the RTAs and the Depositories, which provide details of financial transactions depository accounts, as well as the mutual funds. In the case of mutual fund folios, where the RTAs and Depositories do not share a common PAN, Mutual Funds send a CAS comprising solely mutual fund transactions.

Transactions included in the CAS:

The CAS only shows financial transactions such as unit purchases, redemptions (including maturity payments), switches, systematic transactions such as SIP, SWP, and STP, dividend payments or reinvestment of dividends, scheme mergers, allotment of bonus units, and so on. Non-financial transactions, such as residence changes, bank account details, nomination registration, and so on, are excluded.
